Linda Wilson

Linda Wilson, 73, of Melcher-Dallas passed away peacefully September 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. A time of fellowship will follow the service until 4:00 p.m. The family requests no flowers, and memorials may be made to the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department or Suncrest Hospice in Urbandale. Linda Jean Patterson was born June 2, 1947, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Irma and Bill Patterson. Linda grew up in Melcher-Dallas attending country school and graduating from Melcher High School in 1965. She was very close to her step father, Abe Adrian. She was married to Larry Wilson on January 27, 1968 and they were blessed with a daughter, Shelly. Linda loved being a mother and grandmother.

Linda enjoyed working several jobs in Melcher-Dallas. Betty's Floral, Casey's, South's Market, and most recently, D&S Grocery. Whenever traveling she was always excited to check out the grocery stores to see what they were offering and how it was set up. If there was one thing Linda could have done again, it would have been to go back to D&S and say hello to her co-workers and customers, she really enjoyed her time there. We can all appreciate her being honest and to the point, often saying, "I'm going to tell you how it is!"

Linda was always there to help those in need of a hand and would often give her last dollar to make sure someone had what they needed. She loved to go shopping with Shelly. She loved to go out for lunch and dinner and there would often be a stop at the Casino where she always had her favorite slot machine. In the fall, she enjoyed trips to northeast Iowa and spending weekends at the craft fair in Galena, IL.

Linda will be greatly missed by her husband of 52 years, Larry Wilson; her daughter, Shelly (Ron) Schulte; and grandsons: Josh and Ethan. Along with many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Irma Adrian, Bill Patterson; step father, Abe Adrian; and her brother, Travis Patterson.
