Linda Mae (Brees) Rickabaugh, age 83, of Knoxville, Iowa, left her legacy to make her heavenly entrance on Friday, October 1, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Linda was born on June 14, 1938, to Lewis Corbin and Mildred Etta (Robuck) Brees in Knoxville, Iowa. She was raised in the Marion County area and attended Pleasantville High School
Linda was employed by the Knoxville V.A. Hospital for many years and also worked for various restaurants and other establishments. She shared her cooking and baking skills with her family over the years.
Linda loved bargain hunting, fishing, camping, mushroom hunting and visiting with friends and family. She had a passion for flowers and little animals. She also enjoyed traveling and loved to take last minute adventures to many places over the years. Her most happy times were spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
Linda is survived by her children, Vicky (Octaviano) Trujillo, Lucinda (Ron) Ammons, Leticia Hutchison, and Robert James “Jimmy” Rickabaugh, Jr.; brother, Danny Brees; grandchildren, Michalene Wilson, Dustin Moore, Jacob Ammons, Jordon Ammons, Gavin Hutchison, and Gunner Hutchison; nephew, Nathan Cooper; great-grandchildren, Marissa (Levi) Williams, Mirrah Wilson, Jonathon Moore, and Roman Ammons; also, great-great grandchildren, Maeya Wilson and Lennox Williams; and many other family members and friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Mildred; husband, Jim Rickabaugh; daughter, Teresa Engstrom; brother, Kenneth Brees; and sisters, Alberta Morgan and Romona LuAnn Cooper.
A Celebration of Life gathering with family present will be held at the V.F.W. John Myers Post in Knoxville on November 20, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Linda’s family with services.
