Larry Miller

Larry Jim Miller, age 70, of Albia, Iowa died June 6, 2007 at the University Hospital in Iowa City after a lengthy illness. Jim was born August 18, 1936 in Brazil, Iowa to Willie Gustave and Nelle Blythe Miller. He graduated from Centerville High School, class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Army with Company G, 168th infantry from 1953-1956. He worked as a carpenter, plumber and construction worker. Jim belonged to Local Union No. 597 Untied Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiner of America. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing poker with his buddies and being surrounded by children. Jim is survived by his two sisters, Jean Miller Cousins and husband Max of Washington, Iowa and Patsy Miller Lippert of Newton, Iowa; special friends Dianne Humphrey and Debra Yeomans; nieces Stephanie Cousins Whitaker and Stacey Cousins Bryant, and nephews Derek Cousins and Alyn and Brian Lippert. His Parents, his special friend Marilyn Worley and nephew David Cousins precede him in death. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia from 4-8 P.M. with the family present. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. There are no formal funeral services planned. An Open Memorial has been established.
