Larry B. Fudge

Larry B. Fudge, age 86, passed away on Sunday, February 27th, 2022. At his home in Attica, Iowa.
Larry’s wishes were to be cremated with a private family service at Friends Cemetery in New Sharon, Iowa.
Larry was born on March 20th, 1935, in New Sharon, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur M. and Eva Gail (Fisher) Fudge. He attended New Sharon public school and graduated with the class of 1953. He went to the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, for one year, then began working at Maytag Corp., in Newton, Iowa.
Larry met Patricia Ann Castner, and they married in Fremont, Iowa, on August 20th, 1955. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage and their son Jeffrey Lee.
He returned to the University of Iowa and graduated in 1960 with a BA Degree in Science, and a MA Degree in 1964, and 30 more hours in 1969.
Larry served the school communities of Anamosa, Marquette-McGregor, Gladbrook, Radcliffe, and Twin Cedars of Bussey. He was in Education for 40 years, 31 of them as a superintendent.
He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, a former Radcliffe Volunteer Fire Fighter for 15 years and he belonged to numerous organizations over the years.
He enjoyed many fishing trips to Minnesota and Canada with family and friends. Larry was a volunteer at the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge near Prairie City, Iowa, with over 10,000 hours of volunteer work. He also delivered vehicles for DeVore Motor Inn of Knoxville, Iowa.
Larry is survived by his wife Patricia of Attica, Ia., their son Jeff (Julie) Fudge of Radcliffe, Ia., and one grandson Jared Fudge of Radcliffe, Ia. He is also survived by his brother Arthur (Betty) Fudge of Englewood, Ia.; two sisters-in-law Colette Fudge of Norman, Ok., and Norma Gosselinlk of Grinnell, Ia., and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gail Fudge, his brother Ronald Fudge and a niece Holly K. (Fudge) Nelson.
The Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville is assisting Larry’s family with arrangements.
