Larry Dewaine Davis

Larry Dewaine Davis, 65, passed away on March 27, 2024, at VA Health Center in Des Moines. A burial with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. 

Larry was born on June 20, 1958, in Castro Valley, California to Harold and Nellie “Louise” Davis. He lived in Fremont, California until 1972, when his family moved to Turlock, California. Growing up, he enjoyed nature. Camping, fishing, and deer hunting were things he enjoyed. Larry graduated with the Turlock High School class of 1976. After graduation, Larry enlisted in the Army where he served from 1976-1980. Following his time in the service, he moved back to Turlock and also lived in Delhi, California. In the 90’s Larry moved to Arizona, before returning to Delhi. In the spring of 2023, he moved to Pella, Iowa where he resided until his passing. 

Larry is survived by a daughter, Amanda (Sam) Cunningham of Missouri; grandchildren, Cadence Pratt & Riley Pratt; sisters, Sharon (Randy) Thompson of Arkansas and Nancy Tucker of Pella, Iowa; nieces, Erin (Bryant) McGrath of Arkansas and Bevin (Jason) Ferree of California; nephew, Nick (Nicole) Tucker of Iowa; and three great nieces and two great nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents.
