Kevin John Anderson

Kevin John Anderson, 70, passed away on February 27, 2024, in Knoxville, Iowa. A memorial service for Kevin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville, Iowa. A visitation will take place from 10:30-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home following the service. Memorials can be directed to the family.

Kevin was born on September 21, 1953, to John and Pauline (Hennigar) Anderson. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1972. Shortly after graduating, Kevin began working for Younglove Construction. He worked as a crane operator often in small towns, retiring after 50 years of dedicated service.

In 1987, Kevin married Paula Condon, with whom he stayed married until his passing. Kevin had two children, John, and Amy from a previous marriage. Paula also brought her daughter Carrie into Kevin’s life. He shared many of his different passions with his family throughout the years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping. He loved spending time at Spring Lake and Roberts Creek with his family and friends.

Anyone who knew Kevin could attest to his love for Sprint Car racing. He always looked forward to the next night of racing at Knoxville Raceway. His passion for racing was contagious as his family fell in love with the sport as well. If Kevin wasn’t in the pits helping his son, John, or his grandson Grae; he could be found in the stands by turn one. It was always Kevin’s dream to retire in the Sprint Car Capital of the World. His dream came true in 2019 when he and Paula moved to Knoxville.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Paula; son, John (Crystal) Anderson; daughter, Amy (Kris) Ralston; stepdaughter, Carrie Condon; grandchildren: Amariah Williams, Grae Anderson, and Hayden Ralston; brother, Brian (Arline) Anderson; and sisters, Paulette (Tom) Soppeland, and Pam (Kevin) Nekvinda; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Balzer “Willie” Wilhelm.
