Keith Edward Lundy, age 75 of Tracy, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at his home in Tracy, surrounded by his loving family.
Keith’s wishes were to be cremated with visitation held Friday, November 19, 2021, beginning from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family present at the Community of Christ Church of Knoxville.
A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Community of Christ Church. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 P.M. at Bellefountaine Cemetery in Tracy.
Keith Lundy was born on July 17, 1946 in Knoxville, Iowa to Park Edward and Lilly Elizabeth (Milledge) Lundy. The Lundy family grew up on a farm outside of Tracy and then later moved into town. He was a graduate of Twin Cedars High School, Class of 1964. After high school Keith served in the United States Army from January 11, 1966, to October 14, 1967, in the Army Engineer Corps in Vietnam.
Keith was united in marriage to Candy Jean Swanson on February 1, 1969, in Knoxville, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Lee, Todd, and Erin Rae. Keith and Candy enjoyed over 52 years of marriage before Keith’s passing.
Keith had worked as a cement truck driver; and he had been a foreman on an asphalt crew with Iowa Road Builders. For many years Keith was a Roadcrew Supervisor with the Marion County Road Department; retiring in 2004.
Keith was a very active and proud member of the Community of Christ Church. He was ordained as a Priest and later as an Elder. For many years, he was a youth minister. Keith was a little league and Babe Ruth baseball coach for Tracy. He enjoyed turkey and squirrel hunting, walleye fishing at the Lake of the Woods, camping and fishing on the Des Moines River, and reading, and watching westerns. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He especially enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren’s activities, and his grand dogs.
Those left to cherish Keith’s memory include his wife of almost 53 years Candy (Swanson) Lundy of Tracy; their three children, Lee Lundy of Harvey, Todd and his wife Betsy Lundy of Pella and Erin Rae Lundy of Lamoni; nine grandchildren, Megan, Brian, Marisa, Tricia, Daphne, Park, Max, Colt, and Cedric; and five great-grandchildren, Gabby, Graicee, Genesis, Adian, and Hunter. Keith is also survived by his brother Kenneth and his wife Karen Lundy of Knoxville and his sister Donna Parker of Bussey.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents Park and Lilly Lundy and Candy’s parents James and Marilyn Swanson, his brother-in-law Steve Parker and his sister-in-law Cathy Swanson Hedrick.
