Services for Johnny Lepley, 83, will be Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Lacona United Methodist Church with burial in the Arnold Cemetery. John Junior Lepley was born August 17, 1923 to John Ernest and Margaret Katherine Lepley on the same farm where he has always lived south of Lacona. Johnny graduated from Lacona High School in 1940. He married Imo Hildreth in 1941 and they shared 64 years together. Johnny loved driving; he drove a truck for 27 years logging over 3 million miles without an accident. He belonged to the Teamsters Union, and also to the Eagles Club in Chariton. He and Imo loved to listen to music and spent a lot of time dancing. Johnny also enjoyed going to coffee at the Co-op, seeing everyone at the senior center for lunch, and watching any kind of basketball. Preceding him in death is his wife Imo, a son Gene Lepley, grandson Michael Heller, great granddaughter Cortney Malone, brother Virgil Lepley, and nephews: Bobby Lepley and Craig Thompson. Johnny is survived by his children: Jack Lepley of Nashville, Jan Neer of Indianola, Joyce Lepley of Lacona, Jean Ohnemus of Indianola, and Julie Johnston of Greenfield; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a sister Louise Thompson of Indianola.
