Jessie M Van De Kieft

Jessie M. (Baty) Van De Kieft age 96, passed away on May 21, 2022, at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Jessie’s wishes were to be cremated. A private graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.

Jessie was born on May 29, 1925, in Flagler, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas A. and Fannie Marie (DeRaad) Baty. She attended country school in Marion County.

Jessie was united in marriage to Raymond Van De Kieft, and they were blessed with six children, Judith, Sharon, Margaret, Marie, Thomas and Raymond. They raised their family for many years in Knoxville. Jessie enjoyed being a homemaker and later was employed at Pella Corp. for 28 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Judith (Ashok) Nanda of Florida, Sharon (Larry) Ryerson of Georgia, and Margaret Yoakum of Red Oak, Iowa, grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Darla, Cindy, Lori, Terry, Thomas, and Tammy; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Jessie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harold and Frank Baty; sisters, Rose and Mary; daughter, Marie De Kruyff; two sons, Thomas Morris, and Raymond Henry Van De Kieft, Jr.; and one son-in-law, Peter De Kruyff.

Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Jessie’s family with arrangements.
