Jerry Dee Weeks, 77, of Milo, Iowa passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018 A rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11th, at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Family will receive friends following the service from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Memorials may be made to the Belmont Cemetery Improvement Fund or to the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Jerry Dee Weeks was born December 3, 1940 in Indianola, Iowa the second child of Judd and Ione (Clary) Weeks. He was raised altering between Milo and Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1958. Jerry went to mechanic trade school in Kansas City, Missouri where he excelled. During his 40 year career he worked at several shops, including: Lentz, Clatt and Weeks Garage, Ruble's, Mitchell Transmission, Weeks Garage and Rod's 66. Jerry also worked for several commercial equipment rental companies and retired as a road mechanic 2002. Jerry was highly respected for his mastery of mechanical work and the honest manner in which he conducted his trade. Jerry married to Bernice Greufe on August 21, 1965. They were blessed with three boys: Vern, Rich, and Dan. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting (especially mushrooms), and playing golf. And throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed his toys: his airplane, his motorcycles and his hot rods. He also enjoyed playing pranks on his friends and working on their projects as much as his own. Jerry passed away at his home on Saturday, September 8th with his wife and sons by his side. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; his boys: Vern (Trina) Weeks, Rich Weeks, and Dan Weeks; grandchildren: Jack, Abigail and Bain; siblings: Sonny (Linda) Weeks, Linda Bunting, Butch (Judy) Weeks, and Becky Engelke; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jerry will be fondly remembered for his generous heart and friendly spirit, and will be missed by all. Cemetery Details Belmont Cemetery Milo, IA 50166
