Jerry Hunter was born November 5, 1969 to David and Mildred Hunter. He was the youngest child of three. Jerry attended school in Pleasantville, Iowa until his junior year of high school when his family moved to Carlisle. Jerry graduated high school as a Carlisle Wildcat.
After graduation, Jerry started in the sheet metal trade. Soon after, he married Angela Lowrey and eventually had two daughters, Codi and Natasha.
He grew to live a full life. He always said that he was born in the wrong era and spent free time forging swords and being outside, which is what he loved most. Jerry loved being out by the river; fishing, camping, hunting, or just hiking through the timber. He instilled his love of the great outdoors in his children and grandchildren. He taught them how to enjoy the outdoors, how to make a shelter out of anything, how to survive off the land, and to appreciate the beauty that surrounded them. He would always ask if he could take the grandkids to play in the creek.
May we look to the trees and know that he is now at peace.
Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his daughters, Codi (Cody Michel) Hunter and Natasha Hunter; grandchildren, Taylor and Justin; parents, David and Mildred Hunter; fiancé, Pamela Thomas; siblings, Shelly (Ron) Holsinger and Jeffery (Denise) Hunter; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
