Jeanine Joyce Thompson

Jeanine J. Thompson, 76, of rural Chariton, passed away June 29, 2020. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. The service and visitation will be conducted under CDC Guidelines, which includes social distancing measures. Memorials may be made in care of Jeanine's family and will be designated at a later date. Jeanine Joyce Thompson was born to Howard and May (Cutler) Jepson on December 1, 1943 in Onawa, IA. She grew up in Moorhead, Iowa, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1961 and then attending Business School. On her twentieth birthday, December 1, 1963, she married Donald Thompson in Moorhead. Donald and Jeanine were parents to a son and a daughter, Paul and Pamela. Donald and Jeanine lived in Aledo, Il for 30 years before moving back to Chariton in 2009. Jeanine worked for Chicago-Western Union and was a homemaker. Hobbies for Jeanine included reading and talking with friends on the telephone. She was always with Don, doing everything together. Her family and grandchildren were always a priority. Jeanine will be greatly missed by her husband, Donald; son, Paul (Marie) Thompson; daughter, Pamela (Mike) Salmon; grandchildren: Sabrina Thompson, Betsy (Zac) Salmon Armington, Alex (Alexandra Layne) Salmon, Jesse (Cheyanne Auch) Salmon, Emily (John) Severino; great grandchildren, Jasper Richard Severino and Talen Layne; brothers, Bruce (Marilyn) Jepson and Sam (Cathy) Jepson; brother-in-law, Doug Patten; along with Don's brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Patten; and infant grandson, Richie Salmon. Visitation
