A graveside service for Jason Gartin will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Columbia Cemetery in Columbia, Iowa.
Jason Dean Gartin was born May 23, 1980 to Vicki Jo Crawford in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was raised in Joplin, Missouri alongside his siblings, Adam and Stacy. Jason enjoyed art as a child, especially drawing. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1998.
Jason took a job with Metro Transit Authority in New York City. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed art, cars, reading, spending time with his friends, and catching up with his daughter, Irisa.
Jason passed away in July of 2021 at the age of 41. He is survived by his mother, Vicki Jo Crawford; daughter, Irisa Karah Gartin; siblings, Adam Lee Gartin and Stacy Jo Gartin; grandmother, Marilyn E. Crawford; and uncles, Doug Crawford and Greg Crawford. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William “Roy” Crawford.
