Jarman Lee Miller

Jarman Lee Miller, 77, passed away peacefully in Pella, Iowa on March 24, 2024. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home located at 702 E. Robinson St. in Knoxville. A memorial funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Jarman will be laid to rest with military honors following services at Zion Church Cemetery in Pershing. Following the burial, lunch will be provided at Pershing Community Youth Center.

Jarman was born on February 21, 1947, in Knoxville, Iowa to Wilbur and Fern (Stahl) Miller. He attended Attica School. At the age of 21, Jarman joined the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he started working for Maytag, where he worked for many years. Jarman was a “jack of all trades, and a master of none.”

Jarman loved being outdoors and enjoying nature. Whether it was trapping, hunting, or fishing, he loved enjoying what Mother Nature had to offer. He also enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball, and even coached his own children. More than anything else, Jarman loved his family, and they loved him back. He enjoyed his time spent with them and they will forever cherish the memories.

Jarman is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children: Teresa (Leo) Cowman, Jeff (Rae) Hegwood, Tammy (Don) Hegwood-Wright, and Jennifer Miller-Griffin; eleven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Connie Miller; mother and father in-law, Cornie and Dorothy Slycord; sister, Joyce Sanders; and brothers, Jim and Bob Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jarman’s name may be directed to Pella Comfort House or Pershing Community Youth Center.
