James Austin Stewart

James Austin Stewart, 62, of Russell passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. Family will be present to greet family and friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Dallas Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made in care of the family. You may join the family via live stream at . James Austin Stewart was born to Carl and Erma (Mooreland) Stewart on June 24, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Tulare and Redding, California, and graduated from Strathmore High School. He worked at the rock quarry and was a welder at Cementech in Indianola, Iowa. He was in the Army for 11 years, serving in Desert Storm. He was a 100% disabled veteran after this time. James loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He was also an avid antique collector. Racing go karts was something he really enjoyed as well. James will be greatly missed by his children: Carrie Henderson, James Stewart, and Carl Stewart; grandchildren: Rebecca Henderson, Brooklyn Stewart, Nathan Henderson, Landon Stewart, and Bently Stewart; siblings: David Stewart, Shirley Gillean, Phil Stewart, and Kenny Mooreland; and his "Bear" Dog.
