Jacqueline “Jackie” Valerie Wooldridge, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery, near Harvey.
Jackie was born on April 4, 1934, in Harvey, Iowa, the only child of Mary Elizabeth Wilson and Donald “Shorty” White. She grew up in Harvey.
In June 1952, Jackie was married to Russell Sparks at Parks Air Force Base in California. They had one son together, Donald. She later married Danny B. Wooldridge, and they had one son, Danny Allen.
Over the years, Jackie worked at the Overall Factory, and in the kitchen at the V.A. in Knoxville. After retirement, she worked part time cleaning low-income rental properties in Knoxville.
Jackie was an avid reader and liked to sew her own clothes and patchwork quilts. She was an excellent cook. Jackie enjoyed spending time with and doing things for her grandchildren. She never passed up a trip to the casino with her cousins.
Jackie is survived by her sons, Donald (Cheryl) Sparks and Danny Allen (Heather) Wooldridge, both of Knoxville; grandchildren, Amanda Sparks of Knoxville, Adam (Ashlyn) Sparks of Waukee, Hannah Gullion and Ben (Breta) Wooldridge of Knoxville, and Matthew Wooldridge of Minnesota. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Harper and Piper Sparks of Waukee, and Beau and Brynlee Wooldridge of Knoxville.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Danny.
Through the years, she was extremely close to some of her cousins, and they were more like siblings to her. They are Barb Crozier, Marilyn VanderLinden, Merrill Williams, Burnice Vieheorfer, and Loretta Watson.
