Jacqueline Benham, age 83, of Albia, Iowa passed away peacefully Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. She was born July 1, 1923 in Rex 5 coal mining camp of Monroe County to Charles and Josephine (DeLashmutt) Anderson. She married Kenneth L. Benham, he died July 20, 1972. Jacqueline graduated from Albia High School. She and her husband owned and operated KennyÂ?s Tap, and The New Frontier Room. She later managed the Albia Country Club for several years, and also worked at the American Legion. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, and the United Methodist WomenÂ?s Group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Albia. Jacqueline is survived by two daughters; Melinda Jean (Dave) Hutchinson of Lovilia, Iowa, and Roberta Lynn and (Paul) Gross or Urbandale, Iowa,; four grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, one brother, Robert G. Anderson, and one sister, Donna Jean Shelford. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 10:00 A.M., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Rev. Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will begin after 1:00 P.M., on Friday, May 18h at the Winfield Funeral Home, with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening. Memorials have been established to the Monroe County Hospital or to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
