Ilene Hohneke, age 89, of Albia, Iowa died Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. She was born February 2, 1917 in Afton, Iowa to Harley S. and Floy (Adams) Fluckey. She married W.J. Hohneke on February 18, 1936 at the home of her parents. He passed away on December 26, 1999. She attended rural school Highland No.7 and was a graduate of Afton High School, class of 1934. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Union County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston, Iowa and Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing cards. Ilene is survived by one son Ron Hohneke and wife Betty of Albia; one daughter-in-law JoAnn Hohneke of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Robert and William Hohneke, Rhonda Mason, Richard Hohneke and Cindy Haselhuhn; 10 great grandchildren, Chelsea and Derek Hohneke, Amanda and Caleb Hohneke, Alex, Becca and Ben Mason, Emily and Ashley Hohneke and Sarah Haselhuhn. Also surviving are two brothers Lyle Fluckey of Arispe, Iowa and Kenneth Fluckey of Bella Vista Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband W.J. Hohneke, and one son, Eugene Hohneke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Albia, Iowa with Rev. Tim Stoller officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon in Graceland Cemetery in Creston, Iowa. Visitation will open after 12:00 P.M. (noon) on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia and the family will be present from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday evening. Casketbearers will be Robert, William and Richard Hohneke, Kyle Haselhuhn, Wendell Wilson and Charles Western. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association.
