Helen E. Foreman

Helen Edna Foreman was born on November 23, 1921 in Fontanelle, Nebraska to Wallace and Amelia Whitson. Helen was the fourth of six children. She graduated from Harlan High School. Helen was married to Robert William Foreman on May 10, 1950. The couple were parents to six children: Peggy, Steve, Alan, Beth, Dick, Jim, and Bert. Helen worked as a Home Health Aide in Warren County, Iowa until her retirement in 1991. She was a dedicated member of the SE Warren United Methodist Church Parish, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. As an active member of the United Methodist Women's group, Helen served on several district boards, coordinated funeral dinners, worked at many bazaars and fall suppers. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and sold daffodils each spring. In the early 1990's, Helen was concerned about families not having adequate and healthy food and worked to start the Southeast Warren food pantry. Helen enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting, as well as many other crafts. Many family members and friends have items that were hand-crafted by Helen. Helen passed away on June 10, 2015 at the age of 93. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milo United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milo Library or the SE Warren United Methodist Church Parish. Condolences may be shared at www.pierschbacherfuneralhom.com Helen is survived by her children: Peggy Downs (Alan) of St. Charles, Iowa, Alan Foreman (Monique) of La Luz, New Mexico, Beth Foreman of Ames, Iowa, Dick Foreman (Elna Witt-Foreman) of Truro, Iowa, Bert Foreman (Margie) of Orwell, Vermont, Jim Foreman (Rilda) of Fort Kent, Maine; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and brother, Glen Whitson of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amelia and Wallace Whitson; husband, Robert Foreman; son, Steve Foreman; brothers: Norris, Robert, and Leo Foreman; and sister, Virginia Bristol. Service
