Harold Lloyd Cobb

Harold Lloyd Cobb, 69, passed away on January 13, 2024, in Osceola, Iowa. Funeral services for Harold will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Chariton Cemetery following services. A lunch will be served the funeral home following the burial.

Harold was born on April 23, 1954, in Chariton to Harold and Betty (Smith) Cobb. The family eventually moved to a farm southeast of Woodburn. Harold attended Clarke High School, graduating with the Class of 1973. He had a variety of jobs over the years, including Nestaway, and most recently with the DNR Forestry Department. His love of the outdoors made his time with the DNR a wonderful experience. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. He genuinely enjoyed what nature has to offer. Harold was also an avid runner, participating in several races over the years. He continued to run until his diagnosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome in April of 2016.

As his battle progressed, Harold spent five months at On with Life in Ankeny, before moving to Glenwood where he lived for almost seven years. He eventually moved to Southern Hills in Osceola in August of 2023, to be closer to family and friends. Harold accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 21. As his illness progressed, it only deepened his faith. John 3:16 was his favorite verse in the Bible. Harold was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church in Chariton.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Teresa, who stayed by his side until his passing; daughter, Julie Cobb; grandson, Dylon Brown; stepson, Wesley McDonald; brother, Gary Cobb; mother in-law, Regina McDonald; brother in-law, JD (Tammy) McDonald; sisters in-law, Vicki (Jim) Vanderlinden, Gwen (fiancé Jerry) Musick, Debbie (Rusty) Clark, Cindy (Dennis) Arnold, Julie (Eric) Arnold, and Connie (Brian) Long; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Stanley Woods; sister, Connie Broughton; and his father in-law, John McDonald.
