Greg Patterson, 33, of Woodburn, passed away September 1, 2019 from injuries of an automobile accident. Services will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Interment will be at the Newbern Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made for his children in care of his mother, Teresa Steil. Gregory Alan Patterson was born August 20, 1986 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised in Monroe, Iowa and graduated from Prairie City Monroe High School in 2005. He had worked for Hewitt's Service Center in Monroe during high school and for a time after school. He then went to Astoria in Chariton, Cunningham-Reis, and was currently working in Des Moines at O'Reilly's Auto Parts. Greg enjoyed turning wrenches: working on cars, sound systems, and tires. He liked Chevy's, but loved his Momma's Mustang. And enjoyed a cold one after work. Greg could be described as straightforward, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved his family and friends with a giant heart. His children Drake and Peyton were the greatest. Greg loved to play football with all five of the boys: Drake, Peyton, Dameon, Jesse, and Cody. He was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. Greg also loved the Dukes of Hazard so much that he would go to sleep with it on; his boys would not sleep without it either. He would protect all his friends and family, but Greg protected his mom to no end. Preceding Greg in death were his grandmother, Linda Steil; and great grandmother, Alice Everhart. He will be greatly missed by his children: Drake and Peyton; mother, Teresa (Tim Burnsworth) Steil; biological father, Jeff (Karen) Patterson; dad, Richard Steil Jr.; siblings: Randy (Brittany Lee) Steil, and Roni (Dalton Barber) Steil; fiancé, Alisa Morrison and her children: Dameon, Jesse, and Cody; and grandparents: Richard Steil, Claudia Wimmer, Bill & Cheryl Patterson, and Norma Jean Knight; along with many relatives and friends.
