Gary "Moses" Killen

April 30, 1957 — August 9, 2022

A visitation for Gary Lee “Moses” Killen, 65, of Carlisle, Iowa will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo, Iowa. Memorials may be made in care of Gary’s family.

Gary Lee “Moses” Killen was born on April 30, 1957, the oldest of five children to Vernie and Delores (Brown) Killen. He was raised in Carlisle where he attended school until the 8th grade. Gary did construction most of his life, working at Killen Construction.

Gary could be ornery that’s for sure, but one thing he always was, and that was there for his kids and especially his grandchildren. They loved going on the motorcycle with him, and Cheyenne really enjoyed fishing with her grandpa. The grandchildren gave Gary the nickname, “Gorilla.”

Gary had a deep passion for motorcycles, both building and riding them. He was also a great gardener. The family was in agreement that the vegetables that came from his garden were always pretty amazing.

Gary Lee Killen, 65, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Delores Killen; daughter, Melissa Wadle; 5 grandchildren: Sophia, Makayla, Cheyenne, Lane, and Lilliaunna; siblings: Jennie McKeever (Larry), Mike Killen, Poncho Killen (Tina), and Phyllis Essick (Lennie); along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernie and son, Gary Killen Jr.
