Services for Gary M. Lande will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fry Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lucas Volunteer Fire Department or Fry Hill Cemetery.

Gary Miller Lande was born February 29, 1940, to Ardo and Wilma (Moore) Lande in Ames, Iowa. Gary grew up in Huxley, Iowa alongside his siblings: Dick and Steven. He graduated from Huxley High School in 1958.
On June 13, 1959, Gary was united in marriage to Twila Jordan. The couple was blessed with four children: Connie, Deanna, Kevin and Cindy.
Gary moved to Lucas. Iowa in May of 1981 to pursue his dream of farming while still maintaining his full-time passion of trucking for several companies over the years including Fjelland, Tyler, Kennedy, and retiring from Mid-Seven.
Gary was united in marriage to Vicki Bonnett on January 3, 1991. Gary and Vicki were blessed with a son, Troy.
When Gary wasn't on the road, he always had a good time in the great outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing, or farming. Gary converted his machine shed into a hunting lodge and often hosted family and friends. A great deal of life-long friendships and memories were created. People came from all over to hunt and hang out. Gary enjoyed cooking. He made the best biscuits and gravy, chili, ham and beans, and goulash.
Gary passed away May 25, 2022. His great sense of humor will be missed by his children: Deanna (Kirt) Kramme, Cindy (Bob) Smith, and Troy (Ashleigh) Lande; son-in-law, Mike (Laurie) Hunter; daughter-in-law, Robin Lande; grandchildren: Branigan (Devin) Head, Klint Kramme, Kody (Amanda) Kramme, Nikki Lande, Heather Lande, Jesse Lande, Brandt (Jenna) Smith, Blake (Hannah) Smith, Knyle Dotts, McKinley Dotts, and Waylon Lande; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Steven Lande.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ardo and Wilma Lande; children, Connie Hunter and Kevin Lande; brother, Dick Lande; and sisters-in-law, Linda Lande and Marilyn Lande.
