Gary Louis Frerichs

Gary Frerichs, age 72, passed away peacefully Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born November 25, 1950, in Wayne County, Michigan, to Carl and Hilda Frerichs. He grew up in Nebraska and as a teenager moved to Tucson, Arizona where he graduated from high school.

Gary moved frequently over the years, but mainly lived in Arizona and California before moving to Chariton, Iowa five years ago to retire close to his daughter. Gary was a skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer, starting out as a radio repair man, then worked for Kodak, and eventually working for himself as a computer hardware diagnostic and repair specialist for numerous private companies and government agencies. Aside from his superb job skills, he was a very dedicated and loving father and grandfather.

Gary worked tirelessly to provide for his family and always gave expert advice for every situation. He was always there for his family, whenever he was needed. He was a gentle giant, kind-hearted and very giving.
