Services for Freida Butler, 91, of Milo will be held May 8, 2019 at the Milo Christian Union Church at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held following the service for a time of visiting and fellowship. Interment will be at the Norwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Milo Christian Union Church or to the Kiya Koda Humane Society in Indianola. Freida M. Eaton was born September 10, 1927 to Edgar and Dessie Eaton near Norwood, Iowa. Her mother passed away when she was only three years old. Freida was raised alongside her brothers, Glenn, Ralph, and Lowell. She graduated from Milo High School. Freida was united in marriage to Mike Butler. The couple was married for twenty three years before separating. Freida always kept a close relationship with her nieces and nephews and their families. Freida worked as a nurse's aide at both the VA Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa and at a nursing home in Norwalk, Iowa. She also worked for a time at the ammunition plant in Des Moines. Freida enjoyed going out to eat at Maid Rite and getting a cheeseburger and root beer float at McDonald's. She always enjoyed getting together with old friends at her high school reunions. Freida loved the outdoors, going on walks, tending flowers, and caring for animals. She always had her hair done on her birthday. She loved shoes and liked to try on all of her nieces' cute shoes. Above all else, Freida enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Freida passed away May 2, 2019. She is survived by 3 nieces: Sue Ann Petithory, Tracy Jordan, and Julie Schelkner; 2 nephews, Jeffery Eaton and Ralph Eaton Jr.; several great nieces and nephews; cousin, Eleanor Clark; adopted family, Sandy Perry and her family; along with many relatives and friends. Freida was preceded in death by her mother, Dessie Eaton; father, Edgar Eaton; stepmother, Betty Eaton; and 3 brothers: Glenn, Ralph, and Lowell. Cemetery Details Norwood Cemetery Lucas, IA 50151
