Franky Ray Mendenhall

Franky Ray Mendenhall, age 48, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on December 30, 2020 at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.
Franky was born on April 16, 1972, the daughter of Franklin and Elizabeth (Sharp) Harrison. She grew up in Knoxville and attended Knoxville Schools. She was united in marriage to Rodney Mendenhall and to this union, two daughters were born, Teresa and Shelby.
Franky was employed at KFC for a time and then the Dollar General Store. She enjoyed playing bingo, Phase 10, going to Adventureland, and her favorite holiday was Christmas. She especially loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered by them as generous, caring, sweet and loving.
Franky’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 16, 2021 at the covered bridge at the Marion County Park in Knoxville.
Those left to cherish Franky’s memory include her daughter, Teresa Pherigo (Trinity); mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Larry Pitt; her late father’s husband, Ricki Goodwater; siblings, Kandy Neer (Brad), Sherry Carter (John Small), Genni Eaglin (Bob), and Bobbi Weltikol (Chad); four grandchildren, Nevaeh, Donte, Shelby, and Colson Pherigo; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Franky is preceded in death by her daughter, Shelby Jean Mendenhall; father, Franklin Harrison; sister, Shelli LeGros; and niece, Tara Elizabeth Norton.
Memorials may be given to Franky’s family and can be mailed to Genni Eaglin, 106 W. Robinson St. Apt. 203, Knoxville, IA 50138.
