Flavian "Peck" G. Konrad

A Mass of Christian Burial for Flavian “Peck” Konrad, 84, of Milo, Iowa will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Rosemount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo, Iowa or The Good Shepherd Endowment Fund at The Village in Indianola, Iowa.

Flavian “Peck” Glen Konrad was born on December 24, 1937, near Bauer, Iowa. He was the fifth of eleven children born to Rene and Anna (Schaefer) Konrad. He grew up on a farm near Bauer and attended Bauer School.

Flavian and Ruth (Dittmer) were united in marriage on November 9, 1963, at Rosemount. The couple was blessed with four daughters: Deanna, Debra, Dixie, and Denise.

Flavian served in the National Guard for 8 years. He worked at Massey Ferguson in Des Moines for 20 years and then was a self-employed carpenter.

Flavian attended St. Augustine Catholic Church, serving many years as a Trustee. He enjoyed gardening, reading, working in his garage, and WWE Wrestling. He loved his family and had nicknames for them all.

Flavian passed away on October 12, 2022, at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth; children: Deanna Williams, Troy Williams, Deb (Rick Cox) Fatino, Dixie (Chris) McCormick, and Denise (Ryan) Boozell; grandchildren: Wyatt (Rubija Dupanovic) Williams, Wade (Bailey) Williams, Emma (Tyler) Weston, Grace Fatino, Randi, Reed, and Ryland McCormick, and Luke and Easton Boozell; great grandchildren: Norah and Forrest Williams; siblings: Bernard (Ann) Konrad, Wilma Dittmer, Don (Audrey) Konrad, Pat (Carl) Marsh, Robert Konrad; sister-in-law, Charlotte Konrad; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Rene and Anna Konrad; in-laws, Lester and Ina Dittmer; siblings: Norma Wallace, Darrel Konrad, and Rosie Lepley; and infant brothers: Lyle and Eddie Joe Konrad.
