Esther V. Edgerton

Graveside funeral services for Esther Edgerton, 78, of Corydon will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corydon Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Corydon Housing Association 511 E. Jackson St. in Corydon. On June 8, 2019 Esther Edgerton departed this world, she was 78 years old. Esther was born on August 10, 1940 in Iowa City, the daughter of Reta Evelyn (Brandon) and Charlie Ross Parham. She was raised in the Corydon area. On October 1, 1960 she married John Arthur Edgerton, and they had two children: Ross and Evelyn. They lived in Lisbon, Iowa where Esther raised her children after the two divorced. Esther was a hard worker, working a variety of jobs over the years. She retired from Knight Rifle in 2005. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, spending time with family and her dog Bella. She shopped all year long so she could play Santa at Christmas. Esther is survived by her children: A. Ross (Chris) Edgerton of Prairieburg, and Evelyn 'Lou' (Scott) Wolfe of Solon; two sisters: Eldora Blaine of Corydon, and Joyce Abbott of Elgin, IL; brother, Eugene (Marsha) Parham of Corydon; sisters-in-law: Beverly Parham and Dorothy Parham of Corydon, and Marge Parham of Collins; grandchildren: Amanda (Tyler) Richardson, Amber (Josh) Frahm, Jesse (David) Husmann, and Spencer Wolfe; great grandchildren: Titus, Gunner, Rosalyn, Jack, Bowen, Elijah, and Eliza. She has a special friendship with her niece Holly as well as the rest of her extended family. Preceding her in death were her parents; and 5 brothers: Charles, Otis, Fred, Billie, and Delbert.
