Erich Alan Wilson was born in Ottumwa, IA to Tom & Peggy (Duree) Wilson on April 22, 1975. He lived in Missouri until 1982, then moved to Iowa with his mom & brother, Jonathan. After his mom married a hog farmer, Danny, he became a farm kid. Doing chores with his dad, he learned the value of hard work. After graduating Chariton high school in 1993, he moved to
Virginia & worked for Summit Helicopters. In 1997, his daughter Kylie Lexus was born & promptly wrapped him around her little finger. They helped raise one another, until 7 years later, Joanne Parrott waltzed into their lives.
Erich & Joanne married February 18, 2005 & were blessed with Samuel Thomas in 2005 and Everett Ancel in 2012. They moved to Missouri in 2006. After many years of struggling with his addictions, in 2010, Erich found freedom at Heartland Ministries. There, he learned Jesus was the answer. Erich & his family lived at Heartland for 8 years, serving & giving back. Erich worked as security for the church & was proud to utilize his maintenance engineering skills at the Heartland creamery.
In 2018, Erich followed his dream to Wisconsin, still working in the creamery industry. Once again, Erich succumbed to his addictions. But in May of 2021, Erich found his way back to Jesus. Therefore, able to fight his demons again. For the last 5 months, he was able to rebuild his relationship with his family & enjoy a sober life.
Very passionate, he put his whole heart into everything he did, including loving his family. Erich was spoiled by his Grandma Erma, who was always “tickled pink” to see him. But she also told him, “If you're going to act like a turd, go lay in the yard.”
He died suddenly of Covid complications on October 15th, where his Grandma was “tickled pink” to see him again. His son, Sam dreamt his dad was sitting in the back of Grandpa Duree's old red pick-up, with his cousin Roy Bingham. Grandpa & Grandma were driving them around, showing Erich the sights.
Erich will be missed by his wife, Joanne & 3 children: Lexi of Virginia Beach, VA, Sam & Everett of Fond du lac, WI. Parents: Danny & Peggy Crooks of Lucas, IA and Tom & Stacia Wilson of Osceola, MO. Grandmother: Peggy Hills Underwood. Siblings: Jonathan (Amy) Wilson, Matt (Brooke) Crooks, Chelsea (Jonathan) Van Zee, Landon Wilson & Sara (Anthony) Gordon. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his faithful dog, Stan Lee.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Wimpy & Erma Duree, George & Janie Wilson, Fred Hills and one grandchild.
