Elsie Lois Herold

Elsie Lois Herold, 77, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on January 8, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Lois will be laid to rest in Dallas Cemetery immediately following services.

Lois was born on October 12, 1946, to Merle and Elsie (Schirner) Croy. She was a woman who was deeply dedicated to her family. She was always a strong woman and worked hard to make sure her family had a caring mother in their lives. Raising four boys would be a challenge for anyone, but Lois was always up to the challenge. She took pride in her family and gave everything she had to them. Lois loved being a mother and cherished being a grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were so special to her. She looked forward to being with them and would entertain them for hours, having just as much fun as the kids.

In her free time, Lois loved sitting down with the family and playing cards. Cake decorating was also a hobby of hers. She had an amazing talent for designing whatever the occasion called for. Her patient and creative nature allowed her to put together wonderful creations that everyone always enjoyed.

Lois is survived by her sons, Rodney Herold, Robert (Vicki) Herold, and Russ (Misty) Herold; grandchildren, Cody (Cassy), Tyson, Cole, and Harli; great grandchildren, Huxley, Emery, Karter, and Beckett; siblings, Merle “Doc” (Judy) Croy, Alan Bud (Ellen) Croy, and Cheryl (Joe) Hadley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy Herold; sisters, Dixie Jo Benge, and Marilyn Mohr; and a brother, Bill Croy.
