Ellen Clair

Ellen Neoma Clair, age 74, of Oskaloosa died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born May 6, 1932 in Monroe County, Iowa to Ernest and Sarrah Marguerite (Harper) Selby. Ellen was a cook for 26 years and she also worked in Home Health Care for the elderly. She enjoyed taking care of grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ellen is survived by her children; Diana (Terry) McFarland of Texas, Steve (Debby) Clair of Colo, Iowa, Denny (Mary) Clair of Oskaloosa, Iowa; step-children, Jay Clair of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jo Ellen Clair of Rhodes, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Ellen is also survived by her twin sister, Eleanor Rhoads of Newton, Iowa. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Ernest Jr. Gene, and Harold Selby; and one sister, Marjorie Nace. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday December1, 2006, at the Winfield funeral Home in Albia. Burial will follow services at Service Chapel Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will open after 10:00 A.M., Thursday November 30, 2006 at the Winfield Funeral Home. Family will be present from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening. Casketbearers will be Jake Clair, Jason McFarland, Jesse Clair, Nate Rhoades, Tyler Selby, and Jeremiah Selby. Memorials have been established to the family.
