Edwina Mae Current

Edwina Mae Current passed away March 5, 2020 at the age of 69. Private services will be held at a later date. Pierschbacher Funeral Home is caring for Edwina and her family. Edwina Mae (Wright) Current was born September 5, 1950 to Orville and Ethel Wright at their home in Chariton, Iowa. She was raised alongside her eight siblings in Chariton. After school, Edwina worked for years at a nursing home. She took pride in caring for others. Edwina was blessed with three sons: Robert, Heath, and Steven She was a loving and devoted mother. In the 1980s, Edwina decided to attend cosmetology school in Des Moines. Before she was able to graduate from school, Edwina was in a tragic accident. Her injuries made it impossible for her to return to life on her own. Edwina lived with her sister until the last eight years of her life when she became a resident of Care Initiatives in Chariton, Iowa and made that her home. She enjoyed the activities and live music there. She also loved getting her nails painted and participating in some of the group activities. Edwina is survived by her sons: Robert (Tamara) Cox, Heath (Janell) Current, and Steven (Tania) Current ; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; siblings: Mildred Sudbrock, Dorthea (Jim) Mills, Donna (Tom) Spidle, and Larry (Judy) Wright; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Edwina was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Minnie Musick, Marian Goben, Ricky Wright, and Orville "Bud" Wright. Cemetery Details Chariton Cemetery HWY 14 and HWY 34
