Everyone who knew Donna will have wonderful memories of her sassy spirit. She loved her family and friends deeply, although she was not the least bit afraid to tell you how it is; and she would not take no for an answer. She was always straight forward and honest.

Donna was adopted from an orphanage by Raymond and Maurine Glenn and raised in Knoxville, she graduated from Knoxville High School in 1960 and then attended the Iowa School of Beauty. She worked in Knoxville as a beautician for several years. She caught Harold Butrum’s eye one summer evening on the square in Knoxville and they began talking. Donna and Harold were married on May 29, 1966, and blessed with three children: Angela, Bill, and Michele. Being married for nearly 56 years, Donna loved how her family had grown with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family has been members of the St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years.

Donna loved raising her children and being a homemaker. She became an excellent cook and baker. Some of her family’s favorite dishes were her potato salad, biscuits and gravy, and sour cream raisin pie to name a few. Donna was always willing to help Harold on the farm and for many summers she raked the hay.

She always cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes, loved her dogs and Elvis, and enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. Donna and her close friends would often check out Prairie Meadows, Lakeside, and Meskwaki for a little bit of fun.

Donna passed away at home on Saturday, April 23, 2022, surrounded by her family. We would like to give a very special thanks to Laurie Goff, because of her mom was able to stay at home. And also to our Suncrest family: Susie, Courtney, both Kaylas’, and Jill – All of you are Angels on Earth.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Harold Butrum; children: Angela (Lonnie) Essick, Bill Butrum, and Michele (Troy) Gilchrist; 6 grandchildren: Sara (Greg) Wynn, Ashley (Jason) Stegman, Cortney (Evan) Bell, Stephanie Butrum, Erin (Drew) Clark, and Cayden Butrum; 10 great grandchildren: Koltin, Maximus, Lankyn, Tucker, Skilyn, Kittle, Ashlyn, Hailey, Lijah, Letty, and one on the way; along with many relatives and friends.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents: Raymond and Maurine Glenn, and brother, Bruce Glenn.
