Don Williams Sr.

Don Williams Sr., 84, of Humeston, passed away March 16, 2024, at the Wayne County Hospital. A graveside service will be planned at a later date at the Sharon Cemetery. Cards may be sent to his daughter: Lori Schooley, 1062 Jewell Road, Allerton, IA 50008.

Don was born April 15, 1939, to Telford and Mary (Everhart) Williams. He grew up in the Derby and Wayne County area attending country school and graduating from Cambria High School in 1957.

After graduation, Don married Sharon Throckmorton and this union was blessed with three children: Michele, Donald Jr. “Buddy”, and Lori. He later married Phyllis Smith and they made their home near Goodland, Kansas.

Don farmed after graduating high school and then became interested in Agriculture Sales, selling equipment for many years. He was very sociable and loved talking with people. Don made his morning rounds at the local restaurants, always enjoying conversations with the local farmers. He moved back to Iowa in 2016 making his home in Humeston.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, and siblings: Kenny Williams, Irene Bellon, Richard Williams, and David Williams.

He will be missed by his children: Michele (Tim) Nemechek, Buddy (Toni) Williams, Lori (John) Schooley; Phyllis’ children: Randy, Debby, Rod, and Russ; sister, Roberta Allen; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
