David Michael Russell

David Michael Russell, 62, was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 14, 1956 and went with the angels Saturday, October 20, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorial contributions can me made to the American Cancer Society. David enlisted in the United States Army in 1973. He was a helicopter gunman. David married Sandra Kratsburg in 1977 and had two daughters, Heather Dawn and Crystal Lee. The couple later divorced. For over twenty years, David was a truck driver for various trucking companies. He later settled down in Chariton, Iowa to raise his granddaughter, Cheyanne Rae. David worked as a radio personality for the local radio stations in Osceola and Chariton. He took college classes and became a program director for Crest Services in Chariton. David was a huge part of the Chariton Community and all of his clients admired him. David leaves behind his daughters, Heather and Crystal; granddaughters, Cheyanne and Samantha; great granddaughter, Avalynn; and aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. David will also be missed by his many, many friends; including long time friends, Doug Kratsburg and Dan Downey; and his special friend of over thirty-five years, Brenda Morris and her sons Michael and Jeremy. David was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Peggy Russell; and his close friend and radio confidant, Jackie Wilson. He will be greatly and deeply missed by all. Celebration of Life
