David L Kauzlarich

Services for Dave Kauzlarich, 71, will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Melcher-Dallas City Park with the American Legion will provide burial honors. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the American Legion Post 632 in Melcher-Dallas. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 632. Online condolences may be left at pierschbacherfuneralhome.com . David L. Kauzlarich was born July 17, 1940 in Knoxville to Jasper and Margaret (Roberts) Kauzlarich. He graduated from Melcher High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was in the Bay of Pigs. Dave was an active member in the American Legion. Dave worked for the rail road, was a truck driver, ran the teen center in Melcher, and ran a tavern in Melcher for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their activities, spending time with friends, watching football, and especially enjoyed time spent with his brother Ron. Dave passed away at his home on December 11, 2011 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Deloris 'Jo' Cooper in January of 2011; his son, Daniel Cooper; and his parents. He is survived by his children: Kelly (Sabrina) Cooper of Carlisle, Mark (Sherri) Cooper of Cedar Rapids, and Roxanne Lowe of Chariton; grandchildren: Lisa (Jason) Harvey, Nicole Curtis, Joseph (Megan) Cooper, Benjamin Cooper, Samantha Iddings, and Luke Iddings; great grandchildren: Jaide, Laney, Threalynn, Rylee, and Cameron; a brother, Ron (Jane) Kauzlarich; and many relatives and friends.
