David Lewis Goetler Jr.

David Lewis Goetler, Jr., age 56, passed away on Thursday March 2, 2023, at Accura HealthCare Center in Knoxville. David was born on November 3, 1966, in Harvard, Illinois, the son of David and Martha (Flynn) Goetler. David graduated from Saydel High School. Following high school, David worked as an outdoor laborer at a tree farm and in construction. David was a loving and sometimes ornery man and especially enjoyed his nieces, Danielle, Alexandria, Chasity, and Shasta. David also had a love of animals and playing board games and card games. Those left to cherish David’s memory include his mother, Martha Flynn of Ankeny; sister, Christine (B.J.) York; four nieces, Danielle, Alexandria, Chasity, and Shasta; also 10 great nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his father, David Lewis Goetler; and sister, Marleena Fay Trotter. David’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
