David Gail Forst Sr., 73, was born in Marion County on August 28, 1949, to Maizie and Jack Forst. He passed peacefully on Friday morning, July 14th at home. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Williamson Community Center on Thursday, July 20th, from 5 to 8 pm, with Military Honors at 6:00 p.m.

David graduated high school from Monroe, Iowa. He married Carol Sue Briggs on May 31, 1969, and was drafted shortly after into the United States Army. He was in the service from 1969 to 1973, living in Virginia and Germany. David worked and retired at Firestone. He owned horses and mules; and was a part time farrier. David enjoyed anything in the outdoors including hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Williamson Fire Department for over 40 years. David also served as a Councilmen for the town of Williamson, IA.

David is survived by his wife Carol Sue; his children: David Gail Jr. (Carrie), Lorri Christine Malone (Buzz), and Christopher Danny (Barb); his grandchildren: Rachel (Jesse), Emily, Levi (Jesse Jo), Jack, Reagan, Corran, Mara, Tony (Annie), and Mason; several great grandchildren: Oliver, Lucille, Roxanna, Eleanor, and Molly; his brother, Tim Forst (Robin); and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Maizie, 3 of his brothers; 3 sisters-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law.
