David Paul Allen

A celebration of life gathering for David Allen, 64, of Chariton, will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorials may be made in care of David’s family and will be designated at a later date.

David Paul Allen passed away suddenly on September 26, 2023. He was the second son of Denzil & Joyce (Cain) Allen, born June 18, 1959. He is survived by his brother, Clarence Allen (Charlotte) of Abilene, Texas and sisters, Bonnie Orwig (George) of Chariton and Elaine Abbott (Dave) of Johnstown, Colorado. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Chris, Amy, and Trevor (Gina) Allen; Jon, Jamie, and Julie Orwig; and Matthew Abbott and Holly (Cabello); and many great-nieces and -nephews.

David attended schools in Chariton, graduating in 1977 and continued his education at Centerville Community College. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing in the family pond and hunting. David worked at Hy-Vee Grocery Warehouse in Chariton.
