Darrell Stocker

Darrell Estel Stocker, age 74, of rural Albia died Saturday, October 6, 2007 in rural Monroe County, Iowa. He was born May 4, 1933 in Albia, Iowa to Clarence and Mildred (Grooms) Stocker. He married Polly Flanders in 1959. Darrell was a graduate of Albia High School and attended Iowa State University, playing football and wrestling for one year. After college he began farming with his father and farmed his entire life. He also worked at Malone?s and Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia. He was a co-founder of L&S Tools and later Hawkeye Molding and Waterworks Lounge. He is survived by his wife Polly of Albia; daughter, Cinda (Dennis) Comstock of Albia, son, Kenneth (Barb) Harter of Jefferson, Iowa, daughter Kathy (Jack) Keeton of Albia and son Mike (Mary Clouse) Stocker of Albia; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Also surviving are three brothers, Dean Stocker of Albia, Floyd Stocker of Keosauqua, Iowa and Paul Stocker of Albia, Iowa; and one sister, Marjory Spain of Albia. His parents; daughter Patricia Boeger, son, Dennis Heiden; great grandson, Chandler Heiden; and one brother, C.J. Stocker precedes him in death. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. Kevin Leveck officiating. Cremation has been accorded per family wishes. Visitation will open after 12:00 noon and run until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2007. The family will be present from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday evening.
