Connie Rae (Katz) Finnegan

Connie Rae (Katz) Finnegan, age 79, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines.
A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Hampton, Iowa.
Connie was born April 23, 1940 in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Edward John and Viola Evelyn (Campbell) Katz. She attended and graduated from New Hampton High School, Class of 1958. Connie was united in marriage to Gary Joseph Finnegan in September of 1958. They were blessed with 34 years of marriage before his passing on January 23, 1993.
Connie enjoyed her role as a homemaker and was so proud of her family. She took great pride in her Catholic upbringing, and liked to share with everyone her confirmation/saint name, Constance Regina Bernadette Katz Finnegan. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Connie loved visiting with family on the phone and sharing the family news, doing “drive bys” of her family member’s homes, eating chocolate, and sharing her family’s birthday cakes. She also enjoyed fixing and doing her make up, and getting her hair done.
Those left to cherish Connie’s memory include her children, Tawny (Thomas) Bulman of Fredericksburg, Todd Finnegan of Littleton, Colorado, Tory Finnegan of Oregon, Twyla (Darin) Hoover of Knoxville, Therese Spaulding of Fredericksburg, and Tim (Sara) Finnegan of Knoxville; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and one on the way; also two brothers, Earl “Buster” (Anetta) Katz and Roger (Karen) Katz; and two sisters, Rose Baltes and Robyn (Jason) Proffit.
Connie is preceded in death by her twin sons, Patrick and Michael Finnegan; parents, Edward and Viola Katz; sister, Sally Katz; and brother in law, Robert Baltes
