Colleen Kay "Coke" Mcdonald

Colleen Kay “Coke” McDonald, age 72, of Knoxville and formerly of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on June 26, 2020 at the UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House of Des Moines.
Colleen’s wishes were to be cremated. A visitation for Colleen will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. also at the Winfield Funeral Home. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Colleen was born at the Collins Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa, on December 1, 1947, the daughter of Marion William (Tumpy) and Alpha Colleen (Burch) Miller. Colleen was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1966.
Soon after high school, in October of 1966, Colleen and Marvin Lloyd Agan were united in marriage. Colleen and Marvin moved to South Carolina and were blessed with their first son Kenny. After Marvin’s service, they moved back to Knoxville and they were blessed with their second son Curt. Colleen and Marvin shared eight years of marriage together before Marvin died on January 18, 1974.
Colleen raised her sons and went back to school and graduated from the Iowa School of Beauty in 1977. Colleen was a beautician 32 years around Knoxville and Indianola. She retired in 2018.
In May of 1982, Colleen was united in marriage to Dennis Lee McDonald. Colleen and Denny shared 36 years of marriage and Colleen’s family grew to include a daughter Wendi. Colleen and Denny shared many happy years and many good times together before Denny died on January 19, 2019.
Colleen enjoyed golfing, bowling, and antiquing. She loved her family and especially loved being a grandmother.
Those left to cherish Colleen’s memory include her children, Kenny (Jill) Agan, and their children Olivia, Ella, and Sammy; Curt (Kelita) Agan and their son Daniel; and Wendi (Patrick) Reeves, and their children, Ty and Sophia; two sisters, Linda Moser and Janice Douglas both of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Marion “Tumpy” and Alpha Miller; and two sisters, Cora Ann Miller in infancy and Marilyn Chandler.
Memorials may be given in Colleen’s memory to Knoxville American Legion Post #168 or the Knoxville Alumni Association, Class of 1966.
