Chris Edmund Harrison, age 68, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Friday November 27, 2020 at his residence.
Chris was born on June 28, 1952 in Perry, Iowa, the son of William and Hannah Harrison. He grew up between Perry and Des Moines. Chris graduated from East High School in Des Moines. After high school, Chris joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War, he then served for 26 years in the Iowa National Guard and was based out of Chariton as a Wheel and Track Mechanic.
Chris was united in marriage to Sue Ann Cowling on October 4, 1975. They were blessed with four children, John, Kirk, Carol, and Leah. Chris and Sue enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing.
Chris liked to work on cars in his yard, fishing and building model cars. He also enjoyed vintage cars, especially Ford Mustangs.
Chris is survived by his wife, Sue Harrison of Knoxville; four children, John Harrison (Jeannette) of Knoxville, Kirk Harrison (Joy) of Winterset, Carol Snow (Jeff) of North Logan, Utah, and Leah Lundeen (Chris) of Cresecent City, California; four sisters, Donzella, Billy Jean, Rosemary, and Sherill; nine grandchildren, Timmy, Emily, Spencer, Megan, Sophia, Aubree, Ryan, Austin (Amber), and Elizabeth (Earl); ten great-granchildren, Kitalynn, Hudsen, Alaric, Airalyse, Briella, Lindo, Hazley, Aleeyah, Kylie, and Waylon; also one nephew, Bill.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, William and Hannah Harrison; and one sister, Olive Harrison.
Visitation for Chris will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Winfield Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery with military honors.
