Chase Allen Lavely, age 16, died in a car accident on November 22, 2020. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will be at the Chariton Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Per Iowa coronavirus guidelines, face masks are required at all services and a limited number of visitors will be allowed in the facility at the same time. You may join the family remotely by viewing the service at the following link: Due to the sudden and tragic circumstances of Chase's death, the family has requested that memorials be made to his family in care of Angela Johnson. The memorials will go toward the cost of the funeral and to organizations that reflect the life of Chase's at a later date. Chase Allen Lavely was born February 2, 2004 to Angela Johnson and Jay Lavely. Chase grew up in Chariton. He was welcomed home by his older siblings Kayla, Selena, and Anthony. He currently was a student at Chariton High School. He was involved in wrestling and football through middle school. He loved to work on anything mechanical. He would help his brother and cousins work on bicycles, motorbikes, minibikes, cars, trucks, and four wheelers. Through working on these, he become good at making deals on dirt bikes and cars. He had the determination to finish anything he started. He taught his cousin how to drive. And enjoyed moped rides with Shelly Schilling. Chase was strong willed and stood up for himself and his family. He was a lot like his grandpa Ira and enjoyed spending time helping his grandpa. He enjoyed hanging out with his siblings, cousins, and best friend Jonny Spicer. He loved when his mom would bring home hot wings from Williamson or going to Osceola for tacos. His niece Paislee was a huge love for him. They would go to the park to play often. He had a happiness and love for his girlfriend Katilynn Spicer who also passed away in the car accident. The two of them were always together and had fun together. Chase's willingness to help anyone continued after his death by donation. He will help many people through his selfless donation. Chase is survived by his mother Angela Johnson; father Jay Lavely; step-father Jeff Hildreth; siblings, Kayla Johnson, Selena and Anthony Solano; step-brother Randle Morris; niece Paislee Johnson; grandfather Ira Johnson; aunts: Sherry Johnson and Tracy (Robert) Schneider; uncle Clay (Brandi) Johnson; and many cousins.
