Charles Compton Sr.

November 13, 1954 — September 26, 2019

The Most Interesting Man in the World and International Man of Mystery has passed. His roots can be traced back to the Congo, though he resided in the far reaches of the world, as well as Lacona, Iowa, where he finally settled and lived out the rest of his days. He could tackle raging rivers with just his body, wipe pork grease all over himself and survive a bear infested Alaskan wilderness, dive into shark infested oceans to retrieve unsuspecting rock lobsters, have a cellular tower built wherever he lived, place a call directly to the White house while cruising at 222mph in a blackhawk helicopter, Rock out with Rick Derringer, Jimi Jamison, and Mickey Thomas, while posing in photos for Eric Clapton and his albums. He would sail the Seas in the Queen Marry and hike the Mayan temples of Mexico and still have time to find lost Spanish treasure. He had blood that smelled like cologne...there is a sandwich named after him on every continent.....He was and still remains the Most Interesting Man in the World! We love you dad!!! He is survived by his 2 sons, 2 daughter in laws, six grandchildren, and many many more family members, friends, and followers. There will be no services or visitation. His cremated remains will be scattered on Rodriguez Key, off the shores of Key Largo, Fla., at a later date.
