Cecil "Lee" Schlampp

Cecil Leroy “Lee” Schlampp, 80, of Knoxville, Iowa passed away on December 2, 2022. No services are planned at this time.

Lee was born on December 30, 1941, to Leroy and Ione (McInroy) Schlampp. He grew up in Iowa. He was married to Adeltha “Sue” Rushing in 1975. The couple later divorced.

Lee was blessed with 5 children: Diana, Annie, Connie, Justin, and Cara. He later was blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and getting McDonald’s. In his free time, Lee would often be tinkering in his garage or outdoors. He really missed those times when he went into the nursing home his last years.

Lee served in the US Marines from 1959 to 1961. He later became an OTR truck driver for several companies. At one time he owned his own semi but he really enjoyed and was proud driving the black Peterbilt for Hawkeye Wood Shavings.

Lee will be dearly missed by his children: Diana (Jim Larsen) Miller, Annie Jones, Connie (Sean) Allen, Justin Schlampp, and Cara (DJ) DeJoode; grandchildren: Joshua, Jenni, Tiffanie, Amie, Spencer, Destanie, Haylie, and Jax; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ione, and siblings: Robert, Edith, and Rita.
