Caryl G. Bonnett

March 13, 1945 — March 8, 2024

Knoxville

Caryl Gay (Clipperton) Bonnett went to the presence of the Lord on 8 March, joining those who went before her. She was surrounded by love and a blessing to all who knew her.

Caryl was born March 13, 1945, along with her twin Daryl Clipperton, to Noble E. and Irene (Godfrey) Clipperton of Hamilton, Iowa. She was the ninth of ten children. Caryl attended Bussey High School. She married Larry Bonnett at Union Liberty Church in Mahaska County on October 14, 1961. Larry preceded her in death on May 28, 1998.

Although Caryl and Larry did not have children, they had many nieces and nephews that were children to them. Caryl’s house was full of love and laughter and was a home to everyone. Caryl was an amazing homemaker, a great cook, and had many talents including gardening and canning. Caryl loved hunting Morel mushrooms, games, music, dancing, cleaning, and entertaining a house full of family and friends.

Caryl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters June, Lila Jean, Alice Colleen, Beverly, Ella, and her twin brother Daryl. She is survived by her sisters Shirley Walker of Newton, Marlene Allen of Albia, and Pat Bonnett of Bussey, as well as too many adoring nieces, nephews, and family members to count.

Caryl's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Accura Healthcare of Knoxville and Suncrest Hospice for the great care and companionship that was provided to Aunt Caryl through her stay at the nursing home.
