Carol Johnson

Carol Johnson passed away April 24, 2020 at her home at the age 84. Services will be held at a later date. Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton is handling the arrangements. Carol was born in Des Moines to Wayne and Doris (Deeringer) Eakins. After high school graduation, Carol began working. She worked for Iowa Power & Light, UPS, and in food service at schools in Texas. Carol was married to Dean Johnson and they moved to Texas. They moved back to Pleasant Hill in 2000 and then to Chariton in 2006. Carol enjoyed going to the First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed spending time at home. She was just a kind, low-key individual. Her husband, Dean, passed away in 2018. Carol was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Eakins Jr. She will be greatly missed by her son, Stephen Wilson of Chariton; brother, Keith Eakins of Urbandale; and many relatives and friends.
