Bonnie was born February 20, 1933, the only child of Pearl (Mike) and Beatrice (Moon) Bingham. She was born and raised in rural Columbia, Iowa. Bonnie attended Pleasant Prairie country school as a child and graduated from Chariton High School in the class of 1951.
In March of 1950, Bonnie went on a blind date with Rodney Peterson. The couple dated for close to five years before marrying on April 17, 1955. Rodney and Bonnie were blessed with a daughter, Jennie.
Bonnie worked at the National Bank and Trust for about twenty-five years. Bonnie loved to volunteer her time. She spent countless hours at her church, the hospital, and throughout the community. She also enjoyed spending time on the golf course and getting together with her coffee group friends. Most of all, Bonnie liked to have fun.
Rodney and Bonnie were blessed with a granddaughter, Veronica, and Bonnie looked forward to visiting Jennie, Rick, and Veronica in California. She usually traveled out to see them three times a year.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rodney Peterson; daughter, Jennie (Rick) Riley of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Veronica Riley of Providence, Rhode Island. Important to Bonnie were her many close cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
