Billy E. McCorkle

Billy E. McCorkle, 84, of Chariton, passed away December 25, 2020 at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia, Iowa. Services will be held at a later date and burial will be at the Columbia Cemetery. Pierschbacher Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Billy was born the son of Lena (Harvey) and Ralph McCorkle on April 18, 1936 in Knoxville, Iowa. He married Donna Reed and to this union, they were blessed with three children: Michael, Melinda, and Michelle. He later married Lois Ross and gained four more children: Patti Stephens, Pam Mayfield, Michael Smith, and Melanie Kappelman. Billy excelled in his love for tractors, farming, and cows by becoming a dairy farmer. His favorite milk cow was the Jersey. Billy loved to socialize and always had a farm story to share. He enjoyed tractor pulls and horse pulls. Billy's love for his family was the most important to him. They were his life. Those left to cherish Billy's memory are his wife, Lois McCorkle; his children: Michael McCorkle, Melinda Jones, Michelle Boyd, Patti Stephens, Pam Mayfield, Michael Smith, and Melanie Kappelman; and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
